GETTING STARTED

Which tender portal accounts does your business need?

Start with the original notice for an opportunity you want to pursue. It tells you where to get the documents and send your response. You can often search notices without an account, but supplier registration and bidding may need separate accounts. Register on the services you need rather than assuming one login works everywhere.

What you need to get started

Have these ready to choose the right portal and prepare for an opportunity:

  • The original tender notice and its application link, so you can identify the portal the buyer uses.
  • Your business name, address and contact details for any supplier account you need to create.
  • Access to a work email address for account confirmation and tender messages.
  • Details of any existing supplier accounts your business uses. Ask the account administrator for your own access.
  • The buyer's deadline, so you can allow time to register, read the documents and prepare your response.

Get started

Separate finding an opportunity from applying for it

A notice website advertises an opportunity and gives you its key details. A bidding portal provides documents, messages, questions and response submission. They can be different websites.

For example, you may find a notice on Find a Tender and follow it to a buyer's In-Tend portal. A Find a Tender account does not automatically give you access to that In-Tend portal.

Use the right national account

Find a Tender uses GOV.UK One Login. It also hosts the Central Digital Platform, where you register your business and keep the supplier information buyers may ask you to share.

Contracts Finder uses a Supplier Registration Service account. This is separate from GOV.UK One Login and the Central Digital Platform. If your business already has an account, ask its administrator to add you.

Check the relevant regional service

Public Contracts Scotland has its own supplier registration, alerts and Supplier Finder profile. Some Scottish opportunities use the separate PCS-Tender system for responses; follow the notice.

Sell2Wales registration currently starts with Sign On Cymru. The supplier profile and alert settings are later parts of the process. eSourcing NI is a Jaggaer portal with its own registration. It is separate from eTendersNI, so do not assume the same account or requirements apply.

Register on the buyer's bidding portal when needed

In-Tend portals are linked to particular buyers. Start from the buyer's official website or the link in the notice. Check the buyer's name before registering: an account for one In-Tend buyer does not automatically give you access to another.

ProContract has a shared registration route used by participating buyers. Open the ProContract opportunity and use its registration or sign-in link. Other Proactis products may have separate accounts.

Finish the profile and alert settings that matter to you

Creating a login may not finish your supplier profile or switch on alerts. Read the provider guide and complete the relevant settings. Where you are asked for CPV codes, these are numbered categories describing the goods, works or services you provide.

On Public Contracts Scotland, the Supplier Finder profile and its publication are separate from email alerts. A published profile can help buyers find suppliers for Quick Quotes, which are invitations rather than a guarantee of work.

Follow the tender's instructions and keep proof of submission

Registration, downloading documents and expressing interest are different from submitting a bid. Check what the buyer needs, the route for questions and the final submission deadline.

Submit through the route the buyer specifies and check its confirmation. TenderNudge helps you find matching notices by email; it does not register you on provider sites, submit bids or guarantee eligibility.

Common problems

Why do I need another account after finding a tender?

The notice may be published on one website while the buyer runs the response on another. Follow the application link in the original notice and check your existing access before registering.

Does expressing interest mean my bid is submitted?

No. It may simply give you access to documents or add you to the buyer's updates. Follow the full response instructions and check the submission confirmation.

Do I need accounts on every site before using TenderNudge?

No. Set your keywords in TenderNudge to receive matching tender alerts. When you want to pursue an opportunity, check which supplier or bidding portal accounts that buyer requires.

Frequently asked questions

Which tender sources does TenderNudge use?

TenderNudge brings together notices from Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, Public Contracts Scotland, Sell2Wales, In-Tend buyer portals, ProContract and eSourcing NI.

Where can I get help with a portal account?

Use the provider's support links at the end of its guide. For a question about a particular tender, use the contact or messaging route given by the buyer.

Can I use free provider alerts instead?

Several providers offer their own free alerts. TenderNudge is a paid option that brings keyword matches from major UK tender sources into one weekday email. Use whichever approach fits your business.

Can TenderNudge apply for contracts for me?

No. You review the original notice, check the requirements and submit your own response through the buyer's chosen route.
